Concerning Him authors consist of Emmaus Bible College faculty, staff, alumni, students, and friends. Many have contributed and we are thankful to them all for their hard work.

Alex graduated from Emmaus Bible College in 2020 and is currently studying through Liberty University Online. Alex and his wife Caroline live in Atlantic, IA where he is the full time minister at the Atlantic Gospel Chapel. Alex and Caroline have two children, James and Evelyn.

Arthur Manning has obtained a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He has taught at Emmaus since 2001 and is currently a professor of Computer Studies at Emmaus Bible College. He enjoys studying both the Bible and science as they both show His wisdom. In his free time, he sings for the Emmaus Ensemble and plays violin in the Dubuque Community Orchestra.

Becky Kraus

Becky is the Office Manager for the Admissions Office at Emmaus Bible College.

Ben Jiménez is a follower of Jesus. He is married to Elena, and is father to Marcus and Justus. He co-pastors Kaleo Grays Harbor in Aberdeen WA. He is also an ESL teacher at Grays Harbor College. Ben was born and raised in Mexico City. He moved to Dubuque, IA to attend Emmaus Bible College, where he met his wife and got an undergrad degree. While in Iowa, he was part of Galena Bible Church in Illinois where he led a Spanish outreach effort. Upon graduation, he was invited to Aberdeen to serve at Kaleo. Ben is the editor of Harbor Gospel Colectivo. He also blogs in Spanish at teologiapublica.com.

Ben Mathew is a professor of Counseling Psychology at Emmaus Bible College and serves as the Chair of the Counseling Department. After Ben graduated from Emmaus with a degree in Biblical Studies he went on to get an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and then a Ph.D. in General Psychology from Northcentral University.

Bill Longstreet is an elder at Fairbluff Bible Chapel in Charlotte, North Carolina. Bill has served in the advancement department at Emmaus Bible College and is a current board member for Emmaus.

Christopher Rush graduated from Emmaus in 2003. After 15 years teaching high school in Virginia, he has returned to Emmaus and Dubuque to take over the English Department. His wife, Amy, is also an Emmaus graduate (2000). Amy is the principal of Tri-State Christian School here in Dubuque. They have two children, Julia and Ethan.

Coby Coyle (Class of 2021) graduated from Emmaus with a Secondary Education degree, specializing in World History and English Language Arts.

Dan Smith (1933-2020) served as president of Emmaus Bible College from 1976-2000 and then as Chancellor from 2000 until he went to be with his Savior.

Daniel Johnson

Daniel and Anne Johnson attended Emmaus and graduated in 2010. In 2012 they were commended by Oak Lawn Bible Chapel near Chicago, Illinois as missionaries in Burundi, Africa, and have served there since. Dan and Anne have three children: Ruth, Lydia, and Elijah.

Dave Glock

David Anderson is a pastor/elder at Littleton Bible Chapel in Littleton, CO where he lives with his wife and three kids. David also serves Biblical Eldership Resources in many areas, including hosting their new podcast.

Dr. David MacLeod received both a Th.M. in New Testament Literature and Exegesis and a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. Since 1983 he has taught Biblical Studies and Theology at Emmaus Bible College.

Elisa Cooper

Elisa Cooper is the Chair of the Music Department at Emmaus Bible College, and has been teaching since 2005. She holds degrees from Wheaton College and Indiana University. Elisa participates actively in the Dubuque community by singing in the Dubuque Chorale (community chorus) and performing as a pianist with other musicians.

Erik is the Director of Communications and Engagement at Emmaus Bible College. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Theology from Union Theological College in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Dr. Jack Fish has taught Biblical studies and Biblical languages at Emmaus since 1969. After earning a B.A. in linguistics from Brown University he went on to Dallas Theological Seminary where he earned a Th. M. in Semitics and Old Testament and a Th. D. in New Testament Literature and Exegesis.

Janelle Routley
EDL Student Services Advocate at Emmaus Bible College

Janelle currently serves as the Student Services Advocate for Emmaus Distance Learning. She previously served full-time in several positions in the Student Services Department at Emmaus Bible College, finishing as the Associate Dean for Student Development. She has a Master of Education in College Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University. She currently enjoys working part-time from home and raising her two children with her husband.

Jeff Riley is the chair of the Educational Ministries Department at Emmaus Bible College and actively engaged in the spiritual development and ministry education of students as a full-time faculty member.

Jonathan J. Routley (JJ) serves as Professor of Bible and Theology at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa. JJ also serves on the Board of Directors for the Associates for Biblical Research (ABR). He holds a ThM in Theology from Western Seminary (Portland, OR), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Theological Studies from Columbia International University. JJ and his family reside in Dubuque, Iowa.

Joanna (Jo) Carter graduated from Emmaus with a degree in Bible and Theology and went on to get her master's degree in Library Science. She currently works part time in the Emmaus library and is a Mom to two adorable little girls, Eliza and Ingrid. Her husband, Joel, is a professor in the education department at Emmaus.

Joel Carter has enjoyed teaching history at the high school level and is currently the chair of the Teacher Education Department at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, IA.

John Rush

Dr. John Walker is the Superintendent of Central Christian School in Hutchinson, Kansas.  He is a 2014 graduate of Emmaus Bible College, Cum Laude, in Biblical Studies.  He has worked in education throughout his professional career, dedicating his service to private, Christian education.  He successfully defended his dissertation in February 2021, obtaining his Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Missouri Baptist University. He attends Grace Bible Church in Hutchinson, KS where he resides with his wife (Sarah, EBC ‘13) and four kids.

Justin graduated from Emmaus Bible College in 2016 with a B.S. in Biblical Studies. He and his wife Sarah live in the Greenville, South Carolina area. They have three children, Calvin, Lucille, and Alastair.

Kari Johnson has been a history professor at Emmaus Bible College since the fall of 2021. She earned a B.A. in Bible/Theology & History from Multnomah University and an M.A. in History from Baylor University.

Lexi Taylor is a current student at Emmaus Bible College. Having completed her Associate of Arts in General Studies in 2020, Lexi is furthering her studies in the Counseling Psychology department.

Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Wife and mom. Music lover. Called to full-time service for God in biblical higher education.

Mark Stevenson (PhD, University of Wales) has been teaching in the Bible and Theology Department at Emmaus since 1999. He is the author of the book "The Doctrines of Grace in an Unexpected Place." He and his wife Tonya have 4 children and live in Dubuque, IA.

Jersey earned a Bachelors in Computer Information Systems from Emmaus Bible College in 2018. He is currently a student at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School where he is completing a MA in Old Testament and Semitic studies.

Nathan Colestock is an alumni of Emmaus Bible College and current MDIV student at Bethlehem College and Seminary. He also enjoys serving on staff at Meadow Creek Church in Andover, MN pastoring youth and families. He is the lucky husband of Maddie and a father to his two adorable daughters.

Raju Kunjummen is the Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs at Emmaus Bible College. He grew up wanting to be a scientist and switched to the study of the Bible while preparing for a career as a Biochemist. Raju still likes science although his main love is the biblical text in Greek and Hebrew. He has studied at the University of Minnesota, Grace Theological Seminary, and UCLA. He enjoys teaching the Word in all kinds of contexts and being both in the academic world and in needy areas overseas. Raju is committed to the real-life application of the teaching of Scripture and to training interpreters.

Ron Allen grew up in Southwest Wisconsin and graduated from Emmaus Bible College in 2021. He is currently pursuing a ThM at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Sharon Fleming

Loving the Lord and family, Sharon Fleming’s life has been greatly blessed, with a wonderful husband, four children, who survived her mothering, and now seven grandchildren. Between all the family they have lived in seven different countries, on five continents, and in nine states. Sharon and her husband have been serving the Lord full-time in Peru (8 years), Colombia (16 years), and in the Iowa since 2008 from where Jim serves as Global Director at Emmaus International. Jim and Sharon travel the world encouraging and teaching Emmaus Bible Course directors. Sharon has been discipling women along the lines of Titus 2:3-5 all her adult life. To celebrate her 60th birthday next year, Sharon hopes to take a four day bike ride along the Rhine River.
